Ajit Tharakan, MD, is the Chief of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery at the Oklahoma Heart Institute. He is the surgical director of the Advanced Heart Failure and Mechanical Circulatory Support program. He received his medical school at Sri Ramachandra Medical College, India. He completed his Cardiothoracic Surgery residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital, teaching hospitals of Harvard Medical School. Dr. Tharakan has over 25 years of experience in complex cardiothoracic surgery and offers minimally invasive surgeries, LVAD, ECMO, adult congenital heart surgery, and more.
